pre-departure
I'll be honest. Getting ready to go was not easy. But for you it can be!
Thinking of studying abroad? here's what you need to know. Now that I've finally settled in Korea, I can finally reflect on the several years it took to get here. My process took a little longer, since I started in my freshman year, was deferred three times due to COVID, and am finally traveling in my senior year. While I have a lot to say (especially having done the MIX orientation over three times), I'll keep it short and practical for those curious about what the process is like. I highly suggest checking out my resources page as well.
1 Year/2 Semesters Prior:
Roughly 1 Semester Before Semester Abroad (For Fall: Early January)
3-4 Months Before Semester Abroad (For Fall: Early March to End of April)
2-3 Months Before Semester Abroad (For Fall: May)
1 Month Before Semester Abroad (For Fall: July)
To make the process more digestible, I've created some resources for supplementary guidance that is provided to you along the way. You can access all the documents here. To see the above timeline again, click here. Safe travels, Natalie
